The partnership between DeNA and Nintendo made waves earlier this year when former CEO Satoru Iwata announced that Nintendo had struck a deal with the mobile firm to provide a good backbone for Nintendo’s mobile efforts. Since then, both companies have been quiet about the deal struck, but we do know that five mobile games are supposed to be released between now and March 2017.
According to statements made by DeNA’s CEO, we could be seeing the first of those announcements very soon.
Soon, we should be able to announce the game,” said Asako.
“I can’t say too much about the Nintendo deal,” said Asako. “But it’s a really exciting initiative.
Asako further re-iterated that the partnership between DeNA and Nintendo is one built for the long-term, so it’s possible that a deal beyond these initial five games could be extended. Analyst Dr. Serkan Toto tweeted earlier this month to expect the unexpected soon as well.
