While Game Freak might be synonymous with Pokemon in many circles thanks to their rise to fame on the back of one of Nintendo’s biggest IPs, that’s not all the company has released over the years. Remember Tembo the Badass Elephant and HarmoKnight? Both titles were released in the West as something entirely new from Game Freak.
Now, it appears as though the company will be branching out again after the purchase of Koa Games, a smartphone development studio focused on the Japanese mobile market.

Game Freak’s acquisition of a mobile-focused studio means we could see some interesting non-Pokemon related titles coming from the studio, in Japan at least.
