One of the big reveals of this Nintendo Direct is that Pokken Tournament will finally be released on the Wii U next year. Originally conceived as an arcade cabinet title, the game wouldn’t be the same if Nintendo didn’t offer something special, which is exactly what they’ve done with this release.
For the first production run of the game, anyone who purchases it will get a Shadow Mewtwo card that unlocks Shadow Mewtwo right from the start, so you can begin using him right away. However, he’s not exclusive to those who buy first-production runs, as you can still fulfill the requirements in game to unlock him and play with him.
The game has no specific release date, but is scheduled for Q1 of 2016.
