Rodea and the Sky Soldier released yesterday here in North America, but the game’s creator Yuji Naka recommends playing the Wii version. The game shipped with both the Wii and the Wii U versions of the game as it was a cross-generation title late in the Wii’s life that was cancelled and only saw release after the Wii U was available.
Rodea the sky soldier will be released today in North America! ! Please play the Wii version. https://t.co/ZEX6RZfXgb

Naka’s reasoning for playing the Wii version is that it utilizes the Wii-mote to guide Rodea’s path, whereas in the Wii U version you can only tap the touch screen. The control scheme difference means the two games play quite differently. While the Wii U does have Wii-mote support, you’re unable to use it in the Wii U version of this game.
