One of the biggest surprises during the most recent Nintendo Direct was the reveal of Linkle, a female Link that will appear in Hyrule Warriors Legends. Many gamers have been wondering what impact the reveal will have on installments of the main series, so IGN reached out to series producer Eiji Aonuma to ask.
They asked if Aonuma and his team would consider using Linkle in any future projects in the series, to which Aonuma replied, “I’m sure we will keep her in mind when thinking about future titles.” He also added a bit about her crossbows, since many comments online focused on why she wields them.
I had a chance to give feedback on Linkle during development, but the satisfying action of using a crossbow, which we developed for the spinoff title Link’s Crossbow Training, was implemented this time completely by Koei Tecmo.
So will Linkle be in the next Zelda game? Probably not since its been in development so long, but further down the line it’s possible. What do you think? Do you want to see Linkle as a selectable option for players?
