Minecraft: Wii U edition just released yesterday, but the other consoles and are getting a 1.8.8 update to bring the contents of the game more in line with what’s available on the PC. The full changelog for these new versions include several new building block items, as well as new monsters and animals to work with while you play.
While Mojang’s blogpost featuring all of the new details is for Xbox and PlayStation, the 1.8.8 update will eventually make its way to the Wii U in 2016. This puts the Wii U version of the game behind the iterations of the game on other consoles and PC. It’s not an ideal situation, but at least Wii U owners finally have access to it.
