A few days ago we told you about the new Nintendo Account system that is finally launching in Japan, serving to replace the currently used Nintendo Network ID. Japanese Wii U and 3DS owners can now import their purchase history using the website and those who have never had a NNID can now register using a variety of social media networks and email.
Now it appears as though that system will be exclusive to Japan, at least through March 2016. According to Vooks, who got in touch with Nintendo of Australia, that region and New Zealand won’t be seeing the new account system rollout until March 2016.
“Nintendo Account and the new My Nintendo membership service will launch in Australia and New Zealand in March 2016”.
The representative didn’t specify, but it’s likely that will mark the launch date for Europe and North America as well.
