Nintendo has finally unveiled its new account system, but the caveat is its only launching in Japan for now. First revealed during a previous investor meeting that discussed the closure of Club Nintendo, Nintendo’s aptly named Nintendo Account will serve as the online hub for players across multiple devices, including the Nintendo NX, rumored to launch next year.
According to Cheesemeister3k, players with a Nintendo Network ID can now sign up for a Nintendo Account on the new website. The tool will import your Wii U and 3DS purchase history thanks to the existence of NNID. For those who don’t have a NNID, you can register using Facebook, Twitter, Google+, or just an email.
Nintendo has not made any announcements for when the new Nintendo Account will be rolling out for the rest of the world, but if the NX launch rumors are true, we’ll probably see roll-out very soon.
