Playtonic Games has been hard at work on Yooka-Laylee and while it’s been quite some time since we’ve seen new gameplay footage, they’re still releasing new pieces of information about the game as they go. Today’s big reveal is a new character called Kartos, in celebration of Playtonic’s first birthday.
The studio revealed the character design with the following blurb:
In true Playtonic fashion, we wanted to make this character as fun as possible. He’s old school, so we wanted him to look old fashioned, rather than modern. He actually looks like a bad DIY project by myself, and I’m sure I’ve seen some of his body parts lying around in my shed at home!
According to the developers, Yooka and Laylee will meet Kartos several times in their adventures and he’ll be able to provide assistance to players. To accompany the character reveal, the studio also revealed a sample of the music that will accompany Kartos.
