Image & Form has been doing fire-side chat style videos after the release of Steamworld Heist for the Nintendo 3DS. The game is still slated to be released on Wii U sometime this year, hopefully. While the game has been a huge success for the team on Nintendo 3DS and is nominated for the SXSW Mobile Game of the Year award, the team’s latest video focuses on amiibo.
They’re interested in seeing a Steamworld amiibo happen similarly to what happened for Yacht Club Games with the Shovel Knight amiibo. Both studios are primarily developing Nintendo titles and their primary games feature on both the Wii U and the Nintendo 3DS. They’d love to see some support from fans to see if this can happen, as well as what features it would offer and how it would look.
What do you think? Would you like to see a Steamworld amiibo at some point? We already know from the release of the Shovel Knight amiibo that Nintendo is open to having third-party amiibo characters, as long as they’re heavily associated with the Nintendo platform.
