Developer Scott Cawthon has posted an update to the Five Nights at Freddy’s Steam community to let his fans know that he’s in talks with a few companies to bring the games to current-gen consoles. According to Cawthon, these versions of the game wouldn’t be ready until 2017.
Cawthon was specifically asked about the possibility of a Wii U port for the games, but Cawthon stated that the timeline for the console ports would mean that Nintendo’s next gaming platform, the NX would be released by the time the console versions of Five Nights at Freddy’s is ready. Cawthorn says that he doubts the Wii U will still “be a thing” by the time the game is ready to launch.
