Die-hard Nintendo fans have been hoping the Japanese company would dip their toes into the hardware side of mobile for years now, but an old patent from 2001 suggests that Nintendo considered doing just that more than 15 years ago.
What you see in the images below are concepts for a phone that Nintendo patented, which also included the ability to buy games from within the phone itself. Game Boy titles are used in the example to showcase how the entire concept would work.
