The Evolution Championship Series is one of the biggest fighting tournaments that takes place each year. According to event organizers, more than 2,000 people are now signed up to participate in the Super Smash Bros. Wii U event. That breaks the record of 1,900 attendees last year during Evo 2015.

To compare that to other registration numbers at the event, Street Fighter 5 has more than 4,000 registrations, while Pokken Tournament will make its first debut at Evo this year as well.
