Nintendo has all but abandoned the Wii U, with just one big game on the horizon: the new Zelda: Breath of the Wild in 2017. However, the company is still confident about its Wii U console and the games that are already available on the system.
Nintendo of America’s executive vice-president of sales, Scott Moffitt, recently commented on the Wii U situation, saying that the Wii U games lineup is “plenty of reasons” why people should pickup a Wii U now.
But also because Nintendo will soon stop making Wii U consoles altogether.
“We will be transitioning production to NX, so our message to fans is to grab a Wii U while you can, because they won’t be around forever”, Moffit told the Financial Post.
For current Wii U owners, there isn’t much to look forward to in terms of games. But those purchasing a Wii U today will have lots of great games to play. But that’s the case with any console that has been on the market for a number of years.
