Japanese Wii U sales stay steady at 5,000 per week


Japanese sales tracker Media Create released sales numbers for last week in Japan, where the Wii U sold about 5,000 units.

In fact, over the past few months, the Wii U has steadily been selling around 5,000 units per week. By comparison, the PS4 has been steadily selling around 15,000 units per week in the country.

On the games side, the Wii U had 3 titles on the top 20 list last week: Mario & Sonic At The Olympics (8,700 units), Minecraft (8,300 units), and Splatoon (6,200 units).

To date, the Wii U has sold 3.2 million units in Japan, out of 13 million total worldwide.
